Playing Cards

Serious card players have very specific things that they look for when choosing a deck of cards. They want the cards to feel good in their hands.  They also want the cards to be flexible and durable, and they want them to fly from the dealer's hands without getting stuck.  Every player has his own preferences.  Some believe old-fashioned paper cards are the only ones worth using, while others prefer the look and long-lasting quality of plastic cards.  Even within those two categories, players will latch onto a specific brand that they think works best for them.

 Both amateur and pro players have discovered the beauty of customized playing cards.  These cards can be adorned with images and words that a person feels reflects his interests, or they can be engraved with phrases meant to intimidate the others at the table.  These cards can make a small apartment living room poker game feel more like the real thing, or they can be used as gifts for those friends and family members who just love to play cards.

 There are several web sites dedicated to playing cards.  They usually carry most of the major brands such as Bicycle and Bee.  There are also distributors that only handle one style of card, such as the Kem textured plastic design.  Many of these card dealers work solely on the Internet, but some have actual storefronts. 

Customized cards can be designed and ordered on the Web.  There are a few major printing companies that will produce playing cards along with their other products.  However, they do not always offer the array of options that a specialty printers makes available.
